Department of mathematics was started in the year 1957-1958 as UG department with Tamil medium and English medium. At present it is functioning with sanctioned staff strength of 8, and Student strength of 35 in each medium. M.Sc Mathematics was started in the year 2013-2014 with sanctioned student strength of 24. The Permanent affiliated was started in the date 18-01-2016 with sanctioned staff strength for PG course is4. The Number of staff working in the department is 9.
